INFOMAR Diving App

Free INFOMAR Diving App for iPhone, iPad & Android

Have you checked out our new diving app the “INFOMAR CFT Dive Guide”. It was released in December 2014. The app was designed in collaboration with Comhairle Fo-Thuinn (CFT) / the Irish Underwater Council. Designed by Compass Informatics, a Dublin-based information and location technologies company. The app was made available on iPhone and iPad in March 2016.

A simple map viewer displays useful dive and snorkel site information to the user.

INFOMAR and other marine data are central to the app. Seabed (Shaded Relief), Seabed (depth), wave height, surface temperature, salinity and shipwrecks are combined with blueways and dive and snorkel site locations.

The App succeeds in integrating various data streams.

Some of this data is located on the device with the app, and more served from live data sources.

These live web services include INFOMAR WMS services and also ERDDAP-served dynamic datasets

e.g. current, wave, temperature data.
